the opposite of breathing is cement: poetry and prose

Our amazing team and board directors are committed to amplifying the voices of  the marginalized. We believe in the power of storytelling and its ability to change and save lives by changing perspectives and exposing readers to new views and ideas.

The idea for came to fruition when the #WhatPublishingPaidMe started trending during the summer of 2020. We felt that it was already unfair that writers who are BIPOC or from other marginalized groups already have a hard time getting published as well as encountering fair or equal pay hurdles in comparison to their white counterparts.  

  Four Palaces Publishing’s mission is to be the leading publisher of stories and voices of authors from underrepresented communities.
